Fifteen Minutes of Clean
Fifteen minutes is a few more ticks on the clock than you think, and it can make a huge difference in the appearance of a room or rooms. Take fifteen minutes throughout the day or just once a day to clean everything you can. Dust. Sweep. Re-organize. Fold. Whatever task or tasks you take on, stop cold once the fifteen minutes are up. That’s it. You’re done and can move on to the rest of your day.
Old Fashioned Sense
If you remember the old way, it used to go something like, “Monday, wash day. Tuesday, ironing day. Wednesday, sewing day … “ This orderly, logical approach to homecare shows that our foremothers might have been onto something. Re-adopt, retrofit and personalize it to fit your modern life. Maybe Monday becomes computer room day. Tuesday might be coupon organization day. Wednesday is floor care day. Make the weekend about spending time with family and friends instead of things like dusting and sorting through junk mail.
Dance and Clean
Use your personal music player or stereo system to crank up some high-energy music and clean as much as you can per song, playlist or album. Give yourself a challenge and a goal: Once the song or playlist ends, so do your cleaning responsibilities. Do this once every day during the week or a few times over the weekend.
